Two Weeks Today!

So! Today it has been two weeks since we moved into our apartment. Temporary it sure is. We had some issues this week. The kids and I had went swimming, and when we came back, we walked by the apartment were suppose to be moving into on the 31st. The blinds were open, lights were on and to my surprise..I see CARPET! I about fell over. I was so irritated, and mad. We were told that we were going to have wood floors through out! We had long conversations about it with Rachel, the girl we signed our lease with, about how great it would be with puppy messes (and believe me there are a lot of them) and three kids. Even my sister was angry, because she was told the same thing. So, I waited a few days. I didn't know quite what to say or how to address the issue. Yesterday, I went into the office and this sweet lady, Holly comes up to me says "you are Lavena aren't you?"  "yes" I replied. Then she said.."oh goodness...we have an issue with your apartment" She continued to explain how she and Rachel went to inspect the apartment upon the finish of the remodel, and Rachel was shocked to find that there were no wood floors. Rachel had not had an opportunity to tell me, cause she left the following day on vacation. So, Holly then told me that another four bedroom was open, that a the person who was going to rent it backed out. That new carpet is suppose to be put in this week, but she would see if wood floor could go in instead. So she talked to the maintainance man, and he said..."NO PROBLEM!"  So, now we are moving into a different one, that will in-fact have wood floors. Fhew.  ALSO...the apartment is in such a location, that the sun does not hit it, therefore it will be more friendly to our cooling bills. It is closer to the pool we prefer to use, and the gym, coffee shop area. I am pleased.

On another note...I don't know what the heck was wrong with me, but I submitted my change of address, and put in the wrong address. So we have not been getting any mail. I am such a dork. Good thing I am OCD and have all that information neatly filed on my computer.
Clarissa had her 11th birthday yesterday! We went to my sisters for dinner. She cooked Clarissa her favorite...Spaghetti and green beans, and oh yes, home made bread. YUM. Came home to a masive jasper mess...but all is better now. Kids are liking school. Still haven't got Case completely squared away with his IEP but it will be ok.

Still totally happy with the move. Miss my friends dearly. But we keep in touch. Will post more later!!!

Transition Week 2

Well...we are here. Finally did it. I finally moved away from Montana. Took forever but I finally did it. Am I sorry? NO! Things are going very well.
We are still in a temporary Apartment, and we will be until the 31st. Our furniture consists of lawn chairs (2) and a small table with two chairs. We are currently sleeping on air mattresses. The reason we are doing this is because as you know, Phoenix is really friggin HOT! We are living in a third story walk up. We will be moving into an apartment on the first floor at the end of the month, and I have to do it all by my lonesome self. The idea of moving furniture by myself, three flights, does not appeal to me. Considering..the first day we got here, I got to see what the inside of the local ER is like. Nice I must say. And the service, fast and delightful. Well as delightful as having a needle stuck in your arm, to give you fluids for your severe dehydration can be. Along with the constant vomiting, or more like gagging. Live and learn. :-)

The children are all well. All of them got into charter schools, smaller than the normal public schools. Haylie's high school is great. It is connected with the Paradise Valley Community College. She will be able to start getting college credits while going to high school. How cool is that!? Not to mention...most people will graduate with an associates degree in college before they even graduate high school. I am quite pleased. And the younger ones, they got into a charter school, right next door to our apartment complex. It is a brand new school, just opened! They started today! The thing I love the most, is that with Casey and his autism, this school is starting out tiny, and growing around him. So he will grow with the school, not be thrown into a school that his big and overwhelming.

Our apartment complex is very very nice. We are in a great area. Mostly new development. The complex has four swimming pools, a club house, coffee stand, theater and gym. We have not made use of all the amenities as most of them are being re modeled and updated. We have taken advantage of the pool, or at least the kids have.

I am very happy to be close to my sister. Although we have not had opportunity to spend much time together yet, we have seen one another. I don't feel pressured to see her every day because we live here now. I can see her when ever I desire. And the visits can be as long or as short, because I can see her again the following day if I please. I have always felt that our visits have been rushed and short. (Except for the time that she spent months at my house and I couldn't wait for her to leave hehe)

We are still transitioning. It will take some time. I have not had much time to get familiar with my surroundings and find things to do. But then again, the weather is still a wee bit hot. I am now a heat casualty and always will be, so I have to be very careful. I look forward to the weather cooling off a bit so I can spend time at the zoo, and some of the beautiful gardens they have here.

I will keep you all updated on our progress. I hope that you decide to follow my blog. I miss my friends dearly. And I pray not to lose touch with them. I believe that this is what we were suppose to do. Things are just falling into place, and I see God's blessings touch us every day. Thank you to all of my friends and family for your continued prayer and support. I pray for your well being as well. Until next time!
