Transition Week 2

Well...we are here. Finally did it. I finally moved away from Montana. Took forever but I finally did it. Am I sorry? NO! Things are going very well.
We are still in a temporary Apartment, and we will be until the 31st. Our furniture consists of lawn chairs (2) and a small table with two chairs. We are currently sleeping on air mattresses. The reason we are doing this is because as you know, Phoenix is really friggin HOT! We are living in a third story walk up. We will be moving into an apartment on the first floor at the end of the month, and I have to do it all by my lonesome self. The idea of moving furniture by myself, three flights, does not appeal to me. Considering..the first day we got here, I got to see what the inside of the local ER is like. Nice I must say. And the service, fast and delightful. Well as delightful as having a needle stuck in your arm, to give you fluids for your severe dehydration can be. Along with the constant vomiting, or more like gagging. Live and learn. :-)

The children are all well. All of them got into charter schools, smaller than the normal public schools. Haylie's high school is great. It is connected with the Paradise Valley Community College. She will be able to start getting college credits while going to high school. How cool is that!? Not to mention...most people will graduate with an associates degree in college before they even graduate high school. I am quite pleased. And the younger ones, they got into a charter school, right next door to our apartment complex. It is a brand new school, just opened! They started today! The thing I love the most, is that with Casey and his autism, this school is starting out tiny, and growing around him. So he will grow with the school, not be thrown into a school that his big and overwhelming.

Our apartment complex is very very nice. We are in a great area. Mostly new development. The complex has four swimming pools, a club house, coffee stand, theater and gym. We have not made use of all the amenities as most of them are being re modeled and updated. We have taken advantage of the pool, or at least the kids have.

I am very happy to be close to my sister. Although we have not had opportunity to spend much time together yet, we have seen one another. I don't feel pressured to see her every day because we live here now. I can see her when ever I desire. And the visits can be as long or as short, because I can see her again the following day if I please. I have always felt that our visits have been rushed and short. (Except for the time that she spent months at my house and I couldn't wait for her to leave hehe)

We are still transitioning. It will take some time. I have not had much time to get familiar with my surroundings and find things to do. But then again, the weather is still a wee bit hot. I am now a heat casualty and always will be, so I have to be very careful. I look forward to the weather cooling off a bit so I can spend time at the zoo, and some of the beautiful gardens they have here.

I will keep you all updated on our progress. I hope that you decide to follow my blog. I miss my friends dearly. And I pray not to lose touch with them. I believe that this is what we were suppose to do. Things are just falling into place, and I see God's blessings touch us every day. Thank you to all of my friends and family for your continued prayer and support. I pray for your well being as well. Until next time!
